Guess What? Yep!

It's raining outside right now.  Again.

I am having a real hard time remembering one full day in April when it didn't rain at some point.

Sooo... me and the bikes sit in the garage, watching it cover the street and hearing it splatter on the van.

I'm gonna take a stab in the dark and predict that tomorrow... well, it's gonna rain.

2 Knuckle Heads

Well, I had to work over tonight.  There was a Trade Show going on in Sunbury and we had a booth there.  Allstate Insurance had a booth as well, and were taking entries for a one of a kind custom HD Knuckle Head, so I entered.  But I just couldn't resist their promo-display.  You should have seen the gal's expression when I asked her to do me a favor.  :-)

I just like to have fun.  LOL

Rained Again

Yep.  Rained again.

I hope those May flowers drown.

Dollar General, Amish Style

Nothing really exciting today. Found this Amish Buggy tied up outside the Dollar General Store in Mount Vernon this morning. That's not really an odd thing around most of the rural communities here in Ohio, but wasn't an expected thing to see.

Curve Road Coyote

Okay. So there I was, driving from work to Westerville this morning with my trusty little "point and shoot" sitting next to me. And what do I see dash across the road in front of me? A Coyote. There's a coyote and I have a 4mp "point and shoot" with me. When oh when will I ever learn to pack the Canon w/Zoom lens?? Soooo.. what we have here is a low resolution, highly enlarged photo of a coyote. I was gonna shoot the Roadrunner too but he was way to fast for me.

Easter at Granny's

Easter Dinner at my mother's (Granny's) is an annual event and tradition. I wanted to capture that event in the best way possible, so instead of photographing the traditional Easter ham, or mashed potatoes, the green beans and the pea salad, I figured (while I was still able to) I'd shoot the.. ummm.. refreshments.  It was a good time.  A. Real. Good. Time.

Molly of Molly's Flowers

My friend and client, Molly of Molly's Flowers in Sunbury.  If I am ever in a blah mood, all I need to do is stop in to see Molly.  She's the smilingest gal I think I have ever met!

Daffodils

Daffodils.  I do believe that these flowers are the first ones of Spring.

Random Tissue Paper

These are just random sheets of colored tissue paper that is used in wrapping up bouquets of flowers.  I like the "landscape" feel this photo gives.  Well, I also love the colors.  A lot.

Red & White Barn

I love it when Color, Texture and Contrast all come together to make a simple subject matter pleasing to look at.

Sunbury Village Barn

Another dreary day in Sunbury, Ohio.  This barn sits back off of the Village Square.  I really need to go back when the sun is out!

Scottish Lass

I did a trip over to Iron Pony for their Victory Motorcycle Demo Ride Weekend.  Nothing like a Scottish Lass to brighten up a cool rainy day.  I think there might have been a motorcycle around there as well.. somewhere.. maybe.  I dunno.

One of these days I am going to remember to take a photo of the ice cream BEFORE I have devoured it!

City Hall Arch

This is part of the west door on the old City Hall that sits in the center of the village square in Sunbury. I love the way the late evening sun warms up the old red brick.

Today, just some daffodils next to our front door stoop.  It rained all day long.. and was COLD.

An Alum Ball

Okay, this is starting to get down right eerie.  It rained all day today and I was at a loss at to what to photograph.  Lunchtime found me turning into a boat dock area of Alum Reservoir just off of Africa Road and Cheshire Road and, well, there it was; another Lost Ball.
This one looks like it has been lost for quite awhile and has recently traveled some, judging by the big circular dirt stain on one side.  I never touched the ball.  I never, ever do.  I just shoot them as found and leave them be to continue rolling along through the life of a ball.

Sunday Morning Church

Got up and rode my bike to the early morning service today.  My church in Sunbury, the Vineyard Church of Delaware County (also known as VC/DC) has motorcycle parking on either side of the main entrance. I parked on the left side, as you can see.  Was a great way to start a beautiful Sunday!

Skull On A Stick

The woods behind our house is filled with skulls like this.  Not sure if they are squirrel, 'coon, rabbit or what but I had found this one last fall and stuck it on this sapling.  I don't know why.  I just did.  It's still there.  :-)

Lost In The Woods

Another Lost Ball.  This one was across the creek, behind our house and back into the woods.  My guess is the flooded Alum Creek carried it there.  Unless some kid picks it up, it'll probably never move again until another flood hits.

Colorful Hoses

As I was leaving work today I was complaining to Jess, a coworker and fellow photographer, that I had no idea what to photograph and that I was at a complete loss for ideas.  On my way home I drove over some railroad tracks and saw these colorful hoses lying in the ditch.  Makes for a colorful and interesting composition, I think.

The Arsenal

Part of "the arsenal".  There's just something nice about holding a firearm with wood stocks. I've got stories for every gun I own.  :-)

Rail Tie

I love the mix of textures; the grain in the wood, the chiseled stones and cold smooth steel.  Black and white is the only way to do this photo justice.

Reflecting Brass

The late afternoon sun was shining through our living room window, casting shadows on the far dining area wall.  I liked the way the hammered bottom of this brass wall hanging became a symbolic sun.

LIttle Man

Went to Cousin' Ralph's 50th Birthday Party this evening and his brother Bobby was there with all of his foster kids.  This little man (can't remember his name) and I seemed to have hit it off pretty good.  He was just getting ready to run away from the camera as I snapped this adorable photo of him.  Ya gotta love that grin!

Angie Mann's Photo Exhibition

I drove over to Urbana after work today to see my co-worker and photo-friend Angie Mann's gallery exhibition. She had a really nice display of her work and had a real nice showing of area artists, friends and family.  I had a really nice time!
